46664 World Aids Day concert is to be hosted at Ellis Park on 1st December 2007. South African artists who will be preforming, will be Johnny Clegg, Loyiso, Prime Circle, Arno Carstens, The Soweto Gospel Choir, Danny K, Jozi, Just Jingjer, Louise Carver and Malaika – these are just some of the locals who are scheduled to entertain the fans.To name a few International musicians who will be preforming – Corienne Bailey Rae, Annie Lennox, Ludacris and the Goo Goo Dolls. Not much time left but get booking before it’s to late.
Here is some interesting information as to how 46664 came about. 46664 was Nelson Mandela’s prison number when he was imprisoned on Robben Island – South Africa. He was jailed in 1964 for 27 years. Nelson Mandela was prisoner number 466 He was imprisoned in 1964. The prisoners were never referred to by their names but rather by their numbers and year of imprisonment – hence 46664 was Nelson Mandela’s number.
