Actress Miley Cyrus has reportedly deleted her Twitter account on Thursday after her boyfriend Liam Hemsworth, who is also her co-star in the upcoming film The Last Song, told her to quit Twitter. Now, the ‘Hannah Montana’ star is no longer available on the micro-blogging site. Miley Cyrus’ sudden exit from the social networking site Twitter has left her fans disappointed and puzzled. The 16-year-old Hannah Montana star was one of the most followed celebs on Twitter. The exact reason for Cyrus scrapping her Twitter page is not known although, in one of her last posts she had said Liam Hemsworth, her alleged lover and co-star in her latest flick “The Last Song,” wanted her to delete her Twitter account “with good reason,” reports the Telegraph. Cyrus’ reps have kept mum on the issue. Her fans are now appealing her to comeback to Twitter by using the hashtag #mileycomeback. Miley Cyrus has quit Twitter. As one of the most followed stars on the microblogging site, with over 1.1 million followers, her departure is apparently a big blow to her fans.
She claims she did it because of her boyfriend, Liam Hensworth, a 19-year-old Australian actor, according to reports. He didn’t have a Twitter account and he didn’t want her to have one, either. Yes Miley, it’s bad role model time again. Go ahead and quit Twitter, that’s fine. But don’t do it because a boy told you to. And it must be even harder for a 16-year-old like Miley Cyrus. But it’s undeniable that what she does and thinks matters to millions of young girls. Quitting Twitter at the behest of her boyfriend (if that is really what happened. Disclaimer: I haven’t spoken to Miley personally) sends a terrible message to young girls everywhere. It’s like being the girl who dumps all your friends as soon as you get a guy… multiplied by 1.1 million. Miley, get back on Twitter. Don’t do it for me. Don’t do it for my daughter either who, thankfully, has yet to get on Twitter. Do it for you. Falling in love feels great, but silencing yourself for a man feels terrible. If not now, eventually. For better or worse, you’ve got a voice that millions hear. Let them hear that you can disagree with the boy you’re seeing and still stick to your guns.
