Shilpa is off the single market. The Bollywood film star wed her millionaire businessman boyfriend Raj Kundra in a lavish ceremony in Khandala, a hill resort  near Mumbai in western India on Sunday, November 22. It was the most talked about wedding of the season and Raj Kundra made sure that his marriage with Shilpa Shetty had a complete had a complete royal touch. If it was royal card designed by Ravish Kapoor which made buzz prior to the wedding it was the turn of the chariot on the wedding day. Kundra arrived at the Bawa Villa in Khandala where in a silver chariot driven by two horse. Raj was clad in a maroon sherwani with golden embroidery designed by Shantanu and Nikhil. He sported a turban with his face veiled by a sehra (string of pearls) and held a sword in his hand. Raj had an inch of shyness and nervous looks while leading the baraat. Raj was greeted by Brides maid and sister Shamita shetty with a big hug.His men carried bundle of crisp,500RS notes which they distributed to the band party. Shilpa looked like a true south Indian bride and was blushing and was seen emotional after the ceremony. All the 70 guests who were present at the wedding had a hair dresser, a make up artist and a chauffer driven car at their disposal. In the wedding the menu were from the cuisine from 72 countries.Brides maid who lost the chance to hide the bride grooms shoes. Raj was apparently suppose to give her Rs 51 lakh Rs for his shoes.  The couple who had been dating since 2007 called it the most important day of their life.
At the ceremony, the 34-year-old beauty donned a red sari, diamonds and emeralds. Shilpa Shetty looked stunning in a red designer lehenga-saree but a close look at her reminded us of Aishwarya two years ago. Like Aishwarya who had sported a Kundan to go with her golden sareer on her D-Day, Shilpa too wore a Kundan with her red saree. Even her hair was done taking inspiration from Aishwarya Bachchan. Seems like Miss Worlds can any day inspire the BIG BROTHER winners to take a cue from them. He arrived at the ceremony in a two-horse chariot. The couple was joined by friends, family, and business colleagues for the service, which was a continuation of a sangeet ceremony held on Saturday night, November 21. ”Everything went very well. All parents want their children to get married happily and that goes the same for Shilpa’s parents as well. They are very happy,” the bride’s friend and business partner Kiran Bawa said after the wedding. “Raj and Shilpa both were very nervous before the marriage but now they are happy. We are going straight to Raj’s house in Mumbai.”
Not sharing her wedding details with the press, Shilpa has been quoted by Times of India as stating, “This is my dream wedding. We plan to shuttle between Mumbai and London after marriage. I shall strive to be as successful at home as I am outside. I want to excel as a homemaker.” Asked about her feeling of marrying Raj, who is a millionaire divorcee, she commented, “Let’s be positive. Raj is experienced and hopefully won’t make the same mistakes again. We are used to a certain lifestyle and it’s practical to choose a spouse who can at least match those luxuries, if not more. There’s nothing wrong in looking forward to a comfortable life. But money isn’t everything. Raj and I connect on a different level.”
After completing the rituals and the ceremonies they will leave for their week- long honeymoon at the Bahamas.
