Koyal Rana, our beautiful girl from New Delhi is competiting for the Miss Teen India International, as an Indian contestant. Her first name translates to beautiful humming bird and her surname has a long history of warriors. She speaks English, Hindi & Punjabi comfortably and her beautiful smile and sweet nature won everyone’s hearts at Teen India Pageant. The sub contest winners in the Indian competition in Mar 08 were Koyal Rana, Akshina Bhatnagar, Tanvi Singla, Naomi Midha, Samridhi Kapoor and Malvika Rallan. Femina Girl – the official style and magazine partner had conducted the competition along with Scooty and The MobileStore and Stayfree and MTV. She was also awarded the title of “Miss Fit†for her athletic and fitness achievements.
At 15, she is a student of St. Thomas High School, in New Delhi. She is good in academics especially maths, has earned a gold medal in abacus, and numerous recognitions in athletics & swimming. Writing short stories, traditional tattooing and modern jazz dance are other facets of her versatile persona. She is also in love with nature and outdoors has led her to join excursions for trekking, river rafting and mountaineering.
She visits local ‘mobile crèche’ and teaches underprivileged children of maids working at housing society. At home too, she helps her mother to take care of her two younger siblings.
She has set high goals for life and wishes to support her own higher education in management or media field through modeling as a career. She hopes to be a great manager, a good writer, a successful model, and above all a good human being. To serve her great country is her ultimate mission in life.
What Is Miss Teen International?
A FAMILY AFFAIR… The Miss Teen International system has been developed to promote today’s young women, ages 13 – 18, and their accomplishments. Around the world women are finding this system to be the opportunity to work with others to become positive role models. Being the premiere pageant for young women has given Miss Teen International a chance to open doors for all women around the world. The Miss Teen International 2008 competition will be held July 24th and 26th, 2008 at the Northshore Center for the Performing Arts in Chicago, Illinois. The event will give each contestant the opportunity to learn about customs and family life in other countries along with the chance to share her beliefs and make plenty of new friends during the entire week of activities leading up to two exciting nights of competition. Prizes and scholarships will be awarded to the winning contestant.
PERSONAL INTERVIEW:40% (of overall score) SCORING (1-20 points)
Interviews will be conducted between 5 judges and contestant. Each contestant will have 5 minutes with each judge. No political or religious questions allowed. Each contestant will need to have a platform for which she will speak on during her year, if selected Miss Teen International. Dress for interview is Business Attire.
FITNESS: 20% (of overall score) SCORING (1-10 points)
Miss Teen International will supply the clothing for this area of competition. Each contestant will be judged on being physically fit, energetic, and healthy
EVENING GOWN: 20%(of overall score) SCORING (1-10 points)
Each contestant will wear her own personal choice of evening gown. Each contestant will be judged on grace, poise and elegance in Evening Wear
FUN FASHION WEAR: 20% (of overall score) SCORING (1-10 points)
Each Contestant will wear her own personal choice of fashion wear, but, it must be approved by the National office, with a photo of the selection.
