London, Feb 28 (PTI) George Clooney has lent his Italian villa to soccer star and his good pal David Beckham ‘to unwind’ as latter’s transfer battle to secure footballing talents continues. ’George has really taken David under his wing since the transfer trouble started. At the house, David is able to get away from everything, relax and switch off in private,’ the Dailymail quoted a source telling Hello! magazine. Beckham’s LA club is yet to agree to sell and transfer him to AC Milan. He is due to be back in America on March 9.
However, the soccer player wants to make the move after spending two months at the Clooney’s luxurious villa which he has borrowed on loan. The villa, on Lake Como, is half an hour from Beckham’s Milan base. The 47-year-old Clooney and Beckham became friends after being introduced by Giorgio Armani at the Met Ball in New York in May last year. ’Their friendship has gone to the next level since David started using George’s home,’ the source said. Beckham’s wife Victoria and the couple’s three sons are also said to have stayed at the luxury villa. Although Beckham is planning to make the move to Milan permanently, Posh will remain in US with their sons.
