“Harry Potter” stars Emma Watson and Rupert Grint felt the pressure of millions of fans of the boy wizard series when they recently filmed a highly anticipated kiss between their characters Hermione and Ron. The kiss happens in the seventh and final book in author J.K. Rowling’s series and Watson told a news conference recently– promoting the sixth film “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince” — that the scene was filmed two weeks ago. ”Rupert and I were quite nervous that it might look ingenuous as we were so desperate to get it over with,” Watson, 19, said. “Rupert and I felt the pressure of this kiss, there’s so much interest.” Grint has also revealed that he is concerned about the kiss despite having done a graphic nude scene in his recent film Cherrybomb.  Grint told Access Hollywood what it was like kissing his co-star Emma Watson in the seventh and final Harry Potter movie. “We did the kiss not long ago,â€
Rupert said. “And it was very strange… a very weird kind of experience.â€Â Emma admitted it was like kissing her brother and Rupert agreed: “It was kind of like that for me as well,†he told Access. “I’ve known her for half my life. I’ve known her since she was nine, so it’s kind of weird, but it was alright.†“We did about five takes,†he recalled. “It was over pretty quick.â€Â However, the actress maintained that the scene was important, and that she had to put her best effort to do it properly. She said: “This is ten years worth of tension and hormones and chemistry and everything one moment. We had to ace it.â€Â Yet it was difficult for Watson, she added: “Kissing is awkward, kissing is always awkward.â€
The scene between Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley takes place in the seventh and last book, “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows,†in J.K. Rowling’s popular series. Meanwhile, Fandango.com poll claimed that 59 percent of fans would prefer a kissing scene between Hermione and Ron played by Emma Watson and Rupert Grint, respectively. While on the other hand, only 40 percent chose the kiss between Harry Potter played by Daniel Radcliffe and Ron’s sister Ginny Weasley, played by Bonnie Wright, which can be seen in new film ‘Harry Potter and Half-Blood Prince.’
The film is scheduled for release on July 15. The lengthy concluding novel will be split in two films, tentatively slated for late 2010 and summer 2011. But that doesn’t mean die-hard Harry Potter fans aren’t anxiously awaiting the scene. A Fandango.com poll found that 59 percent of fans said the on-screen kiss they most want a sneak-peek at is between Hermione and Ron. Only 40 percent chose the kiss between Harry, played by Daniel Radcliffe, and Ron’s sister Ginny Weasley, played by Bonnie Wright, which takes place in the upcoming “Half-Blood Prince.â€Â Radcliffe, 19, apologized for his kissing skills, or lack thereof, saying, “I saw the film again a couple of nights ago at the premiere and … my God, my lips are like the lips of a horse, kind of distending independently away from my face and trying to encompass the lower half of hers.â€
