Femina Miss India 2009Femina Miss India Pageant has a 45 year old legacy and is the oldest and most credible beauty pageant in India and for Indians globally. The pageant reflects the mind and soul of today’s woman. Her passion and winning attitude being her strongest driving force be it with respect to family, friends, career or competing in the pageant. Femina Miss India has launched many a face like Sushmita Sen, Aishwarya Rai, Lara Dutta, and Priyanka Chopra to name a few, who have carved a niche for themselves across the globe. Since it began, the Femina Miss India pageant has evolved considerably with the changing face of the Indian woman, global beauty and fashion trends. This year, the pageant would travel across India to unearth the hidden talent and provide an opportunity of a lifetime to the doorstep of every deserving woman.To be eligible you need to be an unmarried Indian female and between 18-23 years (as on 31st December 2008)
Auditions have been conducted in 6 cities of India like Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Indore, Lucknow,Nagpur and Pune to scout for talent. The Pantaloons Femina Miss India squad would short list girls in each city who will then go on to participate at the regionals to be held at Mumbai and Delhi later.

To get your height, weight and vital statistics certified, please visit the nearest Talwalkar’s fitness centre. 4/11 Grand National Final, Mumbai (Televised by Sony)

    Beauty Pageants give woman a chance to use a G-d given gift; allowing one to use them to promote social issues: and is more than just the outer beauty of a person, it goes deeper to reflect the mind and soul of today’s woman.

    Many of these women have confidence and self-esteem to to out into the world as ambassadors for change.

    There is something noble about the beauty of an Indian Woman; natural elegance and regal posture that is beguiling.

    I wish all the contestants the best of luck and enjoy the journey because those that have courage to participate definitely become empowered and more effective for themselves and others.
