There comes a Time in every Mans Life when suddenly the Things he passionately holds dear no longer make Sense to him. Its the Moment when he realises hes growing old and its Time for that Cabin in the Mountains to write the Memoirs of a misspent Life!
Even though F1 is a Sport measured in Milliseconds, I have lately felt Years off the Pace. This Season just does not do conventional, as Martin Brundle said on BBC Sport. Last Years Bottom-Feeders Honda is back under a new Guise as Brawn GP and is flattening the Field whilst McLaren, Ferrari, BMW and Renault with ex World Champions like Raikkonen, Alonso, and Hamilton (current) are scrapping for the minor Points. As Briatori the Manager of Renault and the Man who discovered Schumacher said, “We have world champions in our teams, yet the championship is being contested by a never-has-been who should be retired already (Barrichello) and a nice guy (Button) who is a bit of a Paracarro (Slowcoach – lit. Kerbstone)!
The Problem has been two-fold. This Year brought many Changes to F1, like Slicks (smooth Tyres) making a Come-back. Also the Diffuser (the aerodynamically critical Underside at the back) was to be straight horizontally giving less Assistance to the Driver and making Passing easier with less Turmoil in the Air-Flow behind the Cars. Furthermore Cars had to have the KERS System which stores up Energy for a sudden Boost like in passing. However, Teams like Brawn GP, Toyota and such didnt bother with KERS which brought about a Weight-Saving of up to 35 Kg and designed their Diffusers differently from the big Teams (a double-deck Shape), altogether gaining an Advantage of between half a Second and a full Second a Lap, a LightYear in Formula 1 Terms.
The big Teams appealed over the Results of the first two Races of the Year (Australia and Malaysia, both won by Brawns Button), but the FIA Formula 1s governing Body ruled in Favour of the recalcitrant Teams last Week. So the big Teams are scrambling to design their own Version of the elicit Diffuser. The Future of the KERS System is still undecided; Hamilton did use it occasionally today to devastating Effect to pass Competitors!
This Sunday at this Years Chinese Grand Prix at the Shanghai International Circuit it rained and the Brawns could not use their Brawn. The Race was won by the exciting Youngster, Vettel, from the Red Bull Team, the second Victory in his fledgling Career. So I suppose that is some sort of Return to Normality, even though current World Construction Champions Ferrari still do not have a Point to their Name! By coming third and fourth behind the Red Bulls of Vettel and Webber, Brawn in fact increased their Advantage over the big Teams.
Mmm what will happen this coming Week in Bahrain?

About the Monk
We are tired of searing white Pages with blue, red and black Ink. As Writers we are able to create entire Worlds and maintain the Fictional Reality of a Universe.
As the Monk said (that’s me):
To create as though from Nothing, such majestic Hearts and Worlds as can scarcely be believed to be mythical, that is Writing, the Passion we share.
If one Pilgrim perceives but a Shaft of dusty Sunlight wafting over a Cranny in the Monastery, or heeds a single monastic Echo from the Walls, and that inspires that Pilgrim with Words, our Job is done, magnificently.
We are building a mythical, magical Monastery to offer diverse Writers Refuge and Facilities such as a Library, a Forum, an Arena, a Bookshop, a Garden to post their Work for Review by their Peers, a private Cubicle to write in with marvellous Amenities to plan and collate their Research, and even Ways to promote their Books.
We shall yet become the pre-eminent Home of Writers, or I’ll eat my Cowl!
