Gujarati culture is catching up on daily soaps opera. Our most of the Hindi serials are based on Gujarati culture and showing Gujarati family. Viranis, Thakkars, sarabhais and joshis are ruling the small screen today.
The most exciting part of this clad is they stay together, do business together and provide entertainment together. The system of joined families are still prevailing among them and they are keeping the nation enthralled. And what more to talk about when the highest TRPs speaks by itself about the popularity of such Gujarati serials. Some of the popular ones are Ba Bahu Aur Baby(Thakkar parivar), Kyunki Saas bhi Kabhi Bahu thi(Virani parivar),Teen bahuraniyaan(Gheewala parivar),Ghar ki lakshmi Betiyaan(Garodia Parivar), Jasuben….),Sarabhai vs Sarabhai(Sarabhai parivar).
It is worth appreciating that how people in this state has been able to hold on to this age old practice of joint family system and during financial crisis they hold to each other. Their culture is not only understood all over the world but also appreciated by most of us. Put aside the reel life and take a peep at ‘The Ambanis’ who is leading Indian Industrial house in our country are also Gujarati’s and are live examples of Joint families and success goes in hand to hand at least till date.
