‘Harbhajan banned for life for slapping Sreesanth’

This is what we might come to know tomorrow when the ruling is given in the latest controversy from the cricketing field. All this happened because Shri Harbhajan allegedly slapped Sreesanth after the IPL match between Kings XI Punjab and Mumbai Indians at Mohali. Sreesanth was seen crying after the match. He was consoled by the teammates. Kings XI skipper Yuvraj Singh and coach Tom Moody also confirmed the act of anger from Bhajji.

Wow I guess after earning a few crores, the nation’s cricketers are feeling that they can get away with any kind of behaviour on the field. They are getting really short tempered and shooting from the hip rather than from the cricket bat or ball. They are getting a superstar status at the cost of good quality cricket for which they are meant to be. Kind words like ambassadors of the nation etc are just not soothing enough because they aren’t diplomats. They are being used as mercenaries or gladiators and they are behaving like that only. It used to be said that cricket is a gentleman’s game but I don’t think so anymore.
Priety Zinta and Shah Rukh Khan might have put in a lot of money in buying these stars but they are a bit too much into controversies and that’s how they feel they are going to get more name and fame. Harbhajan and Sreesanth are both courting controversies since some time. BCCI Vice President and Chairman of the IPL Governing Council Lalit Modi has also taken cognizance of this fact and I guess they need to be banned for carrying out so much of non-cricketing activities on the cricketing field which go against the spirit of the game. Harbhajan was also the star of the recent controversy down under with Andrew Symonds where he got the full support of Sharad Pawar of the BCCI and the nation too. However, that seems to have gone to his head. I wonder why don’t senior cricketers like Tendulkar and Dravid advise the younger lot to stay out of all this and concentrate in displaying their cricketing skills. I’m sure Reliance Industries Chief Mukesh Ambani, Vijay Mallya, Actor Shah Rukh Khan, Juhi Chawla, Jay Mehta, GMR Holdings, India Cements, Deccan Chronicle and Emerging India would have all counselled their team members.
The entire controversy of the Cheerleaders will take a backseat with this fresh controversy of Harbhajan. The Washington Redskin Cheerleaders have after all been cleared to perform and they have the rapt attention of a nation with them.
I just hope the ruling of the BCCI or the ICC does not match the heading of my article and Bhajji gets a reasonable lesson on sportsman spirit. Or else Bhajji has at least one job secure as the LEAD cheerleader if anything goes wrong tomorrow.
C’mon Bhajji cheer up with the cheerleaders. Get the point guys.
Watch the Cheerleaders dance Bhajji, you might get motivated soon to be a part of them……
