IIFA AWRDS – PRESTIGIOUS EVENT FOR SRI LANKA

Our neighbor country SriLanka hosted the IIFA awards in July for 3 days this year. Sri Lanka is blessed with natural beauty and water bodies. This is the 10th IIFA award to be presented for bollywood professionals. Superstars like Hrithik Roshan, Salman khan; Jacqueline Fernandez, Priyanka Chopra, Lara Dutta, Bipasha Basu, and Vivek Oberoi participated at the three day event. Besides Indian stars directors, producers, singers also attended IIFA.The eleventh International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) awards 2010 were held in Colombo, Sri Lanka. Most of the stars did not attend the function. Shahrukh khan and Bachchan’s family were not present for the event.
To promote Indian films in abroad also, IIFA have been organized in U.K, Yorkshire, Thailand and Bangkok. Last year the event was held in Macau, China.
Achala Jagoda, SriLanka’s Minister for Tourism, has announced that more than a few countries had competed with one another to get the permission to host the IIFA awards event, but It was Sri Lanka who has finally got the nod to conduct this Major event of every year’s calendar. Mr. Jagoda portrayed this as an international accomplishment, and also commented that quite a lot of important events like Indian business meeting, were also held along with the IIFA event’s sidelines.
This would make the country feel proud and also recognizable among those who competed for this hosting.
In London at The Millennium Dome the first ceremony of the IIFA awards was held. From that time onwards the IIFA awarding ceremony were moving from places to laces to different locations across the globe for advertising the international Grandness of Hindi cinema. Earlier, it was held two times in South Africa, Malaysia, Singapore, The Netherlands, the United Arab Emirates, England, Thailand and Macau and has now finally reached to SriLanka to host this year’s IIFA Bollywood awards.
This 2010 IIFA awards that were held in SriLanka will be the 10th, and the next year’s event is planned to be held in Torronto, which when happens will be 11th IIFA awards to be presented.

proud 2 b a sri lankan…. we ar very sad about tht the bad behavr of some stars in india.. some arent atend 4 this function coz tamilnadu peple … doent mtrr i give my heaps of thanks 4 who came to my mthorland
