ramboiv.jpgA gist of some internet details which I found about John Rambo (doesn’t that name sound familiar like Bond, James Bond). Some details about the story of the film which is quite a super hit here in India.

“Twenty years after the last film in the series(is the guy keeping a track of his movies and his retreats together, sounds a bit funny), John Rambo (Sylvester Stallone) has retreated to northern Thailand, where he’s running a longboat on the Salween River. On the nearby Myanmar border, a deadly battle rages on for the last (the Burmese-Karen conflict) 60 years.

But Rambo, who lives a solitary, simple life in the mountains and jungles fishing and catching poisonous snakes to sell, has long given up fighting, even as medics, mercenaries, rebels and peace workers pass by on their way to the war-torn region (wow isn’t this guy always shown as a recluse who is also the last option of the civilised world in getting out of funny situations). Let the guy live in peace and ask some of those USSS sorry USS carriers to drop ICBM/IRBM’s or some other life expired ammo over with F-16′s ready for action and scuttle out the poor Burmese rebels.

jramboiv.jpgThat all changes when a group of human rights missionaries search out the “American river guide” John Rambo. Sarah (Julie Benz) and Michael Bennett (Paul Schulze) approach him, they explain that since last year’s trek its somehow become too dangerous to go there. Funny since Rambo keeps himself updated with the latest Dow and Nasdaq and also the Sensex where his companies have considerable stake but he never got to hear of these problems about 100km away.

jramboiv2.JPGThe pastor Arthur Marsh (Ken Howard) finds Rambo and tells him the aid workers never returned. Rambo has got into the famous US mortgage problem leading into recession. Wonder how will Rambo Mutual Funds give out the yearly increment to it’s snake charmer Chairman.Although the United States military trained him to be a lethal super soldier in Vietnam, decades later Rambos reluctance for violence and conflict are palpable, his scars faded, yet visible. However, the lone warrior knows what he must do…Go out there and rescue his CFO or else his company investors are going to chew off his b….s

A lot of fun around with dear John but I’m still a big fan of his and a great action movie there. Don’t miss it for any of those hisssssessssss……. Do see the film without the expectations of the previous movies as they leave a much better impression on the mind specially the ones where he fights tooth and nail in Afganistan. A must see for all action stars and cravers of Action packed movies.
