Well, in my opinion, both the programmes are hugely entertaining with a lot of public support and participation. Who would not like to be famous for following a passion like singing and that too on the national stage, or rather an international stage now? The judges, Baby Doll Alisha Chinai, Anu Malik, Javed Akhtar and Udit Narayan are all music greats from our industry who have carved a niche for themselves in this industry which is the darling of millions of South East Asians living around the world.
The other program is Sa Re Ga Ma Pa which is also very well staged and in my personal opinion is better orchestrated in many aspects of show conduct. For one, the acute pinging by Anu Malik is not there which some feel is the USP of Indian Idol but many feel is discouraging for the young artistes which Anu himself must have been once upon a time in his career too. The idea is not to demean a young talent with his pinpricks but it should be encouragement (prothshahn) which Javed Sahib does with his maturity. On Sa Re Ga Ma Pa , this aspect is well handled by all the judges (Bappi Lahiri and others)  and even if a guy is not good, he is shown the door in a decent manner. Â
Well both these programs remind us of so many people in our lives who have made it big and small in this field. Like the great singers themselves and so many others who don’t reach that pinnacle but are all around us, in the buses, bathrooms, offices etc. Do let me know how you guys felt about the last two days of stiff competitions on these two programs which are my favourites at email@example.com
