Katy Perry faces charges for making ‘obscene’ gesture during IPL 5 Opening Nite

Katy Perry, who was the star performer in the Indian Premier League (IPL) ‘Opening Nite’ show before the start of the fifth edition of the T20 league, is facing court for making an “obscene” on stage gesture.

Katy performed along with many top Bollywood stars in Chennai on April 3, 2012, and during her act she invited Australia and Chennai Super Kings pacer Doug Bollinger to join her.

The singer then asked Bollinger to show her how to hold a bat, and during the act, he stood around Katy, wrapped his arms round her and she held the microphone, he put his hands on hers and lowered the microphone to her groin.

According to a report from The Sun, a bid to prosecute Katy for lewdness is being pursued by the High Court in Madras.A few days ago, the High Court Madras ordered notice to Indian cricket board chief N Srinivasan, American pop star Katy, Bollywood stars Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor on a petition regarding alleged “uncensored and indecent” dance programmes during the IPL-V inaugural show in Chennai in April.
