Kurbaan- A love story with a terrorism angle

KURBAAN is a romance set against the backdrop of global terrorism. The film by Rensil D’Souza also stars Vivek Oberoi, Dia Mirza, Om Puri and Kirron Kher and will be released Nov 20.   Kurbaan movie is a part of intense love story and a part of thriller. The movie has suspense, action and political comment. Kareena plays Avantika, a teacher from a University in Delhi, who moves base to New York due to a personal emergency. During this period, she meets a Professor – Ehsaan Khan, played by Saif Ali Khan. Love blossoms and they get married. All hell breaks loose when a series of incidents suck Avantika and Ehsaan into a vortex of danger and intrigue.
Kurbaan movie got many criticisms as “Jihad” movie but director denies it. Kurbaan is not a new name in film industry but Kurbaan 1991 movie has been already introduced with Salman Khan and Ayesha Julka for audiences. Now, Kurbaan 2009 has taken a new form and story. Kurbaan 1991 movie was based on revenge between two families and two hearts. Kurbaan 2009 is based on global terrorism and which revolves around the romantic thriller. The film is a love story with a terrorism angle.

Kurbaan 2009 movie is very similar to Fanaa 2006 movie. Fanaa 2006 was also started with Delhi. Amir plays a game with Kajol to fulfill his desire. Very similarly, Saif marry to Kareena in Kurbaan to fulfill a plan. Kurbaan is also based on global terrorism where hijack and blood are the main theme of the movie.
Kurbaan introduces a great love on the one hand. Similarly, there is terrorism and blood on the other hand. The movie has not new theme despite, it has new face, new aspect and new drama such as Ghajini movie.
STRUGGLE DURING THE SHOOT
Bollywood actor describe their shooting schedule of Kurbaan as “cold and depressing†speaking for not just himself but also girlfriend and co-star Kareena Kapoor.“Kurbaan was hard work. Saif says, “It gets dark there at 4 p.m. itself. Moreover, it’s so cold and at minus 10 degrees it can actually get really depressing. Since we were shooting in sync sound, it was extremely difficult to get the pitch and tone right while delivering our dialogues.â€
It was during the shoot of the film that Saif and Kareena got news of the terror attack in Mumbai last year. “Because of that, it was so difficult to concentrate on the film’s shoot. Thankfully, Bebo (Kareena Kapoor) was there with me at that time but still both of us were very depressed,†says Saif.
We wish them and the entire cast and crew of Kurbaan great luck! and hope that all their hard work which they have put during the making of the film  pays them back, both in terms of money and fame. As for Saif, the movie is very special as he is paired with his love  and he is of course kurbaan on Kareena.
