Once upon a time in Bollywood, there was a film called Kaminey. And now is the time for some Lafangey Parindey. Really, there is some good tolerance which is coming in, a result of which titles like these are now sounding rather cool instead of being considered as cuss. Of course the banner Yash Raj Films counts due to which there is a definite acceptance comes in. Add to that fact that the film features Neil Nitin Mukesh and Deepika Padukone.

Lafangey Parindey (Lafange Parinde) movie is a love story set in the gritty streets of Mumbai. The film is about bike gangs in Mumbai.Neil Nitin Mukesh plays the character of One Shot Nandu, a fighter who pummels his opponents in the ring blindfolded. Deepika Padukone play Pinky Palkar, a dancer who is blind but ambitious and dances with roller skates on her feet. Deepika Padukone, her role in “Lafange Parindey” in which she had to play the role of a visually impaired girl, was the toughest role of her fledgling career so far.Deepika and Neil are connected for the first time. Deepika is a dangerous maneuver for the movie herself. It is noteworthy that the co-star Deepika, Neil Nitin Mukesh, has used a double for the same scene.

“To play a blind person when someone can pretend to be blind despite having a vision…is really difficult.”Not only is her character in the movie blind, she also nurtures the ambition making it big as a figure skating dancer. In order to prepare for her role, Deepika had to do a lot of homework. “I observed blind people… learnt how they react to surroundings… spent a lot of time with them. Also, scenes were rehearsed by being blindfolded and then re-rehearsed with eyes open to compare performances,” she said.

Unfortunately, pretending to be blind while on skates left poor Deepika bruised and battered. During shooting she slipped so many times that Pradeep Sarkar, the director of the movie, contemplated using a body double for the more difficult shots. Deepika however, firmly refused the offer. He teaches her to see and she teaches him how to love. But what price will they have to pay for their love?

The positive factor about this film is that it stays on to young and urban. The film will be released on the 20th of august world wide.
