An eternal Diva-Kate Winslet
Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet reunite onscreen for the first time since 1997′s ‘Titanic’ for the emotional ’50s drama ‘Revolutionary Road,’ in theaters from December 26. Kate’s husband, Sam Mendes (‘American Beauty’), has directed the movie and is based on Richard Yates’ acclaimed 1961 novel, ‘Revolutionary Road’, the story of a Connecticut couple who must grapple with a crumbling marriage. Kathy Bates also stars in the movie as Mrs. Givings, the woman who sells Leo and Kate’s characters their home and introduces them to the town.

One wonders if some of those intimate scenes got a little awkward? “Not a problem in this department,” said Leo. For Kate it was, “I did feel weird about it — [but] you get over that quickly. You really have to.” She added that her husband “really treated her like the actress playing [the character of] April Wheeler,” and that during one of their more heated scenes, “Sam would sort of yell from the other room, ‘No, Leo really grab her thigh! Really grab her thigh!’ I thought, ‘This is really strange, but I’m gonna go with it.’”
DiCaprio most recently starred in Blood Diamond, for which he received an Academy Award nomination, and in the Best Picture Oscar winner, The Departed. He received his other Oscar nominations for his roles in The Aviator and What’s Eating Gilbert Grape. This will be his second film for DreamWorks having previously starred in the Steven Spielberg directed Catch Me If You Can. Winslet was also honored with an Academy Award nomination for her role in Little Children. Her previous nominations were for Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Iris, Titanic, and Sense and Sensibility.

Mendes has a long history with DreamWorks, having directed his first feature for the studio, Best Picture Oscar winner, American Beauty. Mendes received an Oscar and Golden Globe for his direction on American Beauty, as well as the Directors Guild of America’s award for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Motion Pictures. He also directed Road to Perdition for the studio and is currently producing two films for DreamWorks – Things We Lost in the Fire and The Kite Runner, both of which will be released later this year.

Of all the women leo has dated (unfortunately not me but im only 14 and fancied him in romeo + juliet and titanic and now he’s 35…… he still looks good though!) Kate is definatley his perfect match. The titanic film says it all!
