I was asked the other day what my resolutions were for 2013, to which I responded, “I don’t make New Year’s Resolutions. I don’t believe in them”. And no, it’s not because I fail to keep them, or anything like that. Though, truth be told, I don’t believe in them in part due to the fact that they have a lot of negativity attached to them as a result of the discouragement around failing to keep them (wow! that was a mouthful…).
For me, my focus is–regardless of the day or year–to do what I can to live my life to the fullest as often as possible. I have goals and a vision, but it doesn’t go by the wayside or get jump started simply because a New Year rolls around. Movement forward is always the goal, regardless of the time of year.
With that being said, I do find the New Year a powerful time to reflect in gratitude for the successes and gifts of the prior year, and to step into gratitude with expectation of all the wonderful gifts in the year to come.
Be gentle and Love who you are every day!
Sending lots of Love and Gratitude!
