Miss World 2009 pageant took place at Johannesburg tonight and the surprise winner was none other than Miss Gibraltar Kaiane Aldorino. Miss Mexico was the first runner-up and Miss South Africa was the second runner up. Miss new Miss World 2009 winner – Miss Gibraltar – is a big surprise to people around the world considering this is the first time that Gibraltar has ever qualified to be a finalist for the Miss World pageant. Bollywood actress and former Miss World Priyanka Chopra handed over the Miss World 2009 sash to Miss Gibraltar while the outgoing Miss World Ksenia Skhinova crowned her successor Miss Gibraltar Kaiane Aldorino.
This is the first time Gibraltar entered as a finalist and Miss Gibraltar Kaiane Aldorino went on to take the Miss World 2009 crown in Johannesburg, South Africa. Miss Gibraltar Kaiane Aldorino was also the winner of the Miss World Beach Body Fast track title earlier this month and she has gone ahead and created history by being the first time Gibraltar has won the Miss World crown ever!
And now that she’s been given the distinct honor of being named as the reigning Miss World, Kaiane tells of her plans, “I will try to do the best that I can now that I have opportunity and advantage.â€
