Princess Victoria meets Bollywood star Aamir Khan

Princess Victoria, the eldest daughter of Swedish King Carl XVI Gustaf, who is on a 10-day state visit to India for The Sweden India Nobel Memorial Week 2008 celebrations had dinner with ‘perfectionist’ Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao on October 21 at Hotel Trident in Mumbai. The Swedish ambassador was also present during the dinner meet.
The spokesperson of the Embassy of Sweden, Delhi, said, “HRH Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden, wanted to meet Aamir Khan when she visited Mumbai. The Princess appreciates Mr Khan’s contribution to cinema, especially his sensitive film, Taare Zameen Par. She would also like to congratulate him on his second entry (after Lagaan ) to the prestigious Oscar Awards. The Princess has developed a liking for this particular Khan and is highly appreciative of the actor’s work and contribution to Indian cinema. This isn’t the first time that Aamir Khan is having a brush with royalty. Earlier, Prince Charles had given the mahurat shot for his film, Mangal Pandey when he was on a visit to India.

The actor took the invitation as recognition of his body of work and said that he was pleasantly surprised by it. When asked to elaborate on the same the actor exclaimed “It is a privilege to receive a special invitation like this.” This is probably the first time that an Indian actor has been invited for an exclusive tryst by a visiting monarch. Princess Victoria is the eldest daughter of the King of Sweden, Carl XVI Gustaf, and is next in line to the throne. Victoria is on a 10-day state visit. While in Mumbai, she also plans to visit the Bombay Stock Exchange. She would also visit Jodhpur on Wednesday for a desert vacation.aamir with princess victoria
Aamir gifted the Princess an antique lithograph while the Princess gifted Aamir a DVD collection of Ingmar Bergman films. Well kudos to Aamir for bringing Bollywood to the fore front of the world and laurels to this country.

    Indian culture is unique. People are aesthetically
    tasteful. The impression I get is that their taste in interior Design is conservative an luxurious and I have not yet seen ultra modern interiors.

    Princess Victoria looked like a delightful and down to earth woman and seems to have a healthy interest in life.
