Bollywood Actor and sister of yesteryear actor Kajol, Rani Mukherjee had never dreamt that this would have happened in real life. This kind of a harsh truth in this world has come to dawn on her even if the timing had been similar of her shooting of the comedy film “Bunty aur Babli” wherein she pulls off many a stunts including selling the magnificent Taj Mahal. She had paid a huge amount of Rs. 33 lakhs (nearly $ 1,00,000)
for some piece of land in the holy land of Shirdi in Maharashtra.
She even paid a nice sum of Rs 1.32 lakh as stamp duty for registration in the district tehsildar office, but the land is not with her and people say that the district collector has scrapped the deal. The farmer Sampat More is now apparently willing to return the money to Rani as the land was purchased in the name of Rani’s father Ram Mukherjee . However loose talk on TV says that even the stamp duty money is not likely to be returned to her as the same land has been sold to seven different people. This shows a very pitiable condition of our land records that even a top actor cannot rely on the land mafia. These people have access to the corridors of power but still cannot make sure what they buy in India is good value for money.
