Dilli 6 is a forthcoming Bollywood film to be directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra that will star Hrithik Roshan (now replaced Abhishek)]], Sonam Kapoor, Om Puri, Atul Kulkarni, and Divya Dutta.
Dilli 6 is based on Mehra’s growing up years in Chandni Chowk area of Old Delhi. The film will be Mehra’s third directorial venture after the immensely successful Rang De Basanti, which had been selected as India’s official entry to the Oscars.Â
Sonam Kapoor, daughter of Anil Kapoor, has reportedly confirmed taking part in the movie and will be paired with Abhishek Bachchan. No doubt this will be a very important film as she has to give acid test to the audience after her first film flopped on the box office.  The actress is heavily banking on this film now. She knows well that if the film clicks she will have a lot of big banner films falling in her kitty. With the promos of the film, just out, she seems to be excited by them as they majorly concentrate on her than the film’s hero, Abhishek Bachchan.
   The film is a semi-autobiographical take on Rakeysh’s childhood days. Delhi- 6 seems to be promising on all fronts. The director has also changed he title as per numerology to Delhi-6 now. Director Rakeysh Mehra is making sure that the title will prove beneficial mainly for Sonam Kapoor and producer Ronnie Screwvala.  Rishi Kapoor and Tanvi Azmi are also apart of the film. The film went on the floors Dec. 20, 2007 Amitabh Bachchan will also have a small role in the film where he will play the grandfather to Laxman Prasad, played by Abhishek Bachchan. Waheeda Rahman will play the grandmother of the same character. Gulshan Grover has been roped in to play Abhishek Bachchan’s dad in the film.

American-born Roshan (Abhishek Bachchan), who brings his ailing grandmother back to India.Little does he know that the quick trip will turn into the longest journey of his life – a journey within. The backdrop of the story is the ancient walled city of Delhi, a character in herself. She represents the chaos, religion, beliefs and ethos of the Indian people. The pin code of the city is 110006, and with pride of love they call her Delhi-6.
Indian films has come to an stage where they are focusing on more real life scripts and chandni chowk an ancient location in delhi seems to be hot favorite of Bollywood these days. Chandni chowk to china also has lots of chandni chowk in it.
The promos of the film has already started on television showing only back side of Abhishek Bachan, seems to have an interesting scripts and I hope it will be some fun to watch this film.
