It is sad that in spite of so much advancement not only in technology but also in the thought process, fair Complexion is still considered superior to the very dusky Indian complexion. Hot Bollywood, Bips was written off by the critics, who claimed that her dusky complexion would make it difficult for her to be accepted in the main stream. It sure took a while, but finally Bipasha convinced Desis that dark can be really sexy. And now, after years the actress is facing the same issue, but it’s in the advertisement world this time.

Bips was signed for a jewelry brand, but she was swapped at the last minute for Karisma Kapoor. Bips was shocked when she learnt that it was her dusky skin which triggered the brand to replace her in the ad.
According to the brand, the diamonds would not quite go that well with her dark complexion and also, her dusky look might not help the brand connect with the target women audience. So a fair-complexion Karisma replaced the dusky beauty Bips, is it really Fair? This is absolutely rubbish. Diamonds shine with equal lustre on dark skin it shines on fair skin. It is just the overall Indian obsession for fair skin that has enforced the company to change their model. It is just not fair and unfortunately when the society considers it equal and adores dusky beauty, the more modern and educated ones brings all the more discrimination on skin colors.
