The American television series, Smallville, first premiered in the fall of 2002. The show is based on the younger years of Clark Kent (Tom Welling), before he became Superman, living on the Kent Farm with his adoptive parents, Jonathan Kent (John Schneider) and Martha Kent (Annette O’Toole). The Season 1 premiered in 2002, with Clark being in his freshman year of high school at Smallville High, in the small town of Smallville. During this season, Clark learns the truth about his alien heritage and his home planet, Krypton. After his superpowers begin to develop one-by-one, his adoptive parents tell him how they found him and his spaceship.
Throughout the season, a lot of familiar names from the Superman and Marvel franchises were included in the Smallville series. The show’s audience learns how Clark and Lex Luthor (Michael Rosenbaum) first met each other, and how they were friends before they became arch enemies. Lana Lang (Kristin Kreuk) is introduced as Clark’s crush and future love interest in the series as the seasons go on. We also meet a lot of new faces that impacted Clark’s younger years, such as Chloe Sullivan (Alison Mack), the high school’s newspaper reporter and Clark’s future co-worker at the Daily Planet, and Lionel Luthor (John Glover), Lex Luthor’s father.
The following three seasons continue through Clark’s sophomore, junior, and senior years of high school. He continues to learn about his alien heritage from inscriptions on a cave wall in the Smallville area, from tribes that have similar stories about a ‘man of incredible strength,’ and from the scientist, Dr. Swan (Christopher Reeve), who has information from outer-space about Clark’s origin. Also during these years, he fights and helps people who were affected by Kryptonite (meteor rocks that fell during the meteor shower that brought Clark from Krypton to Earth and Clark’s only weakness). Lois Lane (Erica Durance), Clark’s future wife as seen in the Superman movies, is also introduced to us during this time period as Chloe Sullivan’s cousin.
Since his high school years, and throughout the following four seasons, Clark has begun fighting crime and stopping villains, including Lex Luthor, in the Smallville and Matropolis (a city near Smallville) area. He has also begun a career as a newspaper reporter at the Daily Planet. The audience also learns how the Justice League begins to form, and how Clark helped the league out many times before becoming a member of the league himself.
Smallville is currently on its eighth season, continuing the storyline of Clark Kent before he becomes Superman. He still has yet to learn to fly, which is the only ability he does not yet have. Love, hate, envy, and lust continue to bring friends and foes alike into Clark’s life. The show continues it’s exciting and dramatic storyline, keeping viewers anxious about what will happen next.

So, i walked away without a visible scratch on my body from a wreck that should have killed me… How did I walk away, I have no idea. Someone was watching over me, that’s all I can say. To those who asked about me, thanks you. I really appreciated it. It’s good to know that those close to me care, and those that have grown apart from me over the years still care. I just want to thank you all. It really means a lot to me. And for those that was by my side; Cort, Jeremey, and Josh, when the police came, and when I was back at the house, you mean more than you can imagine to me. I thank you. Everything happens for a reason, and me WALKING out of that horrific crash alive, without a scratch, has a lesson behind it that needs learned. I hope that I’m not the only one that learns this lessons, but those around me will to, because even though it was just me in that car, it could have been you instead. Always remember those who matter, and even those who don’t, because to someone out there, they do matter, and with that being said, that’s all that matters. I don’t know why I walked out of their alive, but I’ve been given another chance, and I’m going to treasure every day with everything and everone I have, becuase I could easily not be sitting here writing this, but be elsewhere in a better place looking down on those mourning. What a realization that is. IT’s definatly opened my eyes. So, to everyone, thank you again for checking on me, and being there when I needed you all the most. Now I’m just waiting for the shock to subside… Thanks again…
