STORM OF TV CHARACTERS

Many of us love these TV characters irrespective of they being a vamp or the goodie goodie girlish character or it could be something like an ugly, spectacled girl with braces.
Some of us love them for their SATI SAVITRI attitude, others like a confident and out going city girl. But whatever the camp, we can’t do without the daily dose of long suffering saints, vamps and social crusaders every day; such is the impact on the audience. These women or characters have ruled on the idiot box over the years.
They have changed the outlooks, mindsets and perception of the viewers, honestly speaking they have exploited the emotional aspect and made a place for them in the heart of public wheather it is Saloni, Parvati Tulsi, Jassi, Prerna or Komolika———-.
The list is endless. They have managed to become larger then life, as far as their character is concerned. In real life all these character’s are much different then their reel life.
I would like to attribute this article to the late Priya Tendulkar, wife of Karan Razdan who entered our homes in the era of 80’s in the outstanding and popular serial RAJINI. Rajiniji fought for social justice and rights. In this serial she also made us aware of corruption which is existing in our society. Such serial serves a double purpose apart from providing entertainment they are also an eye opener on the social front.
