In a statement, the couple announced the birth of their girls and declared: ‘The entire family is overjoyed.’ Sarah Jessica, 44, and Matthew, 47, added that the birth was only possible through the ‘generous help of a surrogate’, but refused to give any details about the birth mother. However, Star magazine had reported that a 26-year-old divorced barmaid carried the babies. It’s understood they were conceived with IVF technology, using eggs Sarah had frozen some time ago and Matthew’s sperm. The couple splashed out more than $200,000 to cover payments to the mother and surrogacy agency, plus medical costs. According to the UK’s Daily Mail  Michelle is a 26-year-old ex-bartender who has tattoos, is bisexual and has had a bit of a roller coaster past.

The news follows speculation the couple’s 11-year marriage was over, after reports last year that Matthew had an affair with a 25-year-old youth worker. It’s claimed he strayed after meeting the redhead at a bar in Manhattan while his wife was working on the movie version of Sex And The City. They have never denied the allegations, but their relationship had been plagued by rumours of a split.  ‘They really believe these babies can make their marriage stronger,’ their friend says.

Sarah Jessica admits her marriage hasn’t been without its fair share of problems. ‘I’m really lucky he’s the father of my son, but that doesn’t mean we always agree,’ she says. ‘We’ve had some rather treacherous train rides. I’m happy to be with him regardless, but I’m sure there are many times he wishes he wasn’t with me.’

Busy filming the comedy Did You Hear About The Morgans? with Hugh Grant, Sarah Jessica has insisted on being a hands-on mum to James, saying she’s more comfortable in that role than any of her acting roles. ‘I put him to bed every night – I get him dressed,’ she says. ‘I’m the one who gives him his toothbrush. I take him to school every morning. He’s very small, but his personality is like he’s six-foot-four.’ Sarah Jessica and Matthew had tried to conceive another child naturally since their son James was born six years ago. Sarah Jessica and Matthew aren’t the first celebs to have kids born to a surrogate. The celebrity pair welcomed the arrival of their twin baby girls. “Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick are delighted to announce the healthy arrival of their two daughters at 3:58 P.M. on June 22 in Ohio,” the representative said in a statement. ”Marion Loretta Elwell Broderick weighed 5 lbs., 11 oz., and Tabitha Hodge Broderick weighed 6 pounds”.  ”Both Hodge and Elwell are family names on Parker’s side.”

Sarah Jessica Parker was born on March 25, 1965 in Nelsonville, Ohio to Stephen and Barbra Parker who then decided to split up not long after her birth. Her mother afterwards remarried to a businessman named Paul Forste, thus delivered four other children, so she consequently has seven siblings altogether. Raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, the girl joined Cincinnati Ballet before followed her family to New York City where she enthusiastically polished her dancing skills at the American Ballet Theatre while took time to sing with Metropolitan Opera in its productions of “Cavaleria Rusticana”, “Pagliacci”, and “Parade.” Encountered her small screen debut through NBC’s “The Little Match Girl” at the age of eight, Sarah later earned her first Broadway role in “The Innocents” which led to the family’s relocation to New Jersey in 1976 with the purpose to support her dream of becoming an actress.

The surrogate mother of Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthhew Broderick’s twins has testified in court that tax files and ultrasound photos were taken from her home in Ohio while she was in hiding prior to giving birth. Ohio police officers  have been charged with illegally entering Michelle Ross’ home in Martins Ferry, taking the items and then trying to sell them to a photographer who was attempting to break the news about the identity of the mother of the “Sex And The City” star’s kids. Ross gave birth to the twin daughters on June 22, 2009 at East Ohio Regional Hospital in Martin’s Ferry, Ohio.
