This is first time I have penned down an article for a news programme, Honestly speaking I could not control my temptation as these days the news channels are giving tough competition to all the MASALA serials telecast day in and night out on Indian television. News channels are not lacking in this field also and they are showing dramatised version of real life happenings. In the morning by chance I was watching Khabar India, It had a very interesting segment on DULHA’s (bridegrooms) and how the brides were being fooled by them.
For instance, in the first case, a wife arrives at the venue of her husband’s second marriage and starts beating the hell out of the bride and her husband with a chappal(slipper) (hilarious, isn’t it). The Dulha of course ran away from the venue without the bride.
In the second instance, the bride gets engaged to a boy who runs away four days prior to the marriage. The family engages the girl to the younger brother of the boy keeping the marriage dates intact but the younger brother also runs away two days prior to the marriage (reminds me of The Runaway Bride, sorry the BrideGroom.
In the third instance, two boys are to get married but the police comes to arrest both of them as one is accused of rape and the other for murdering his would-be wife.
