WOMEN’S DAY—- A NEW BEGINING

We believe that women are strong. We believe that everyone has the right to live a life free of violence. We believe we can build a brighter future for our children. We believe that our community has the right and the responsibility to help.We believe in new beginnings. We are privileged enough to celebrate some happy occasions like Women’s Day and on this day we think of pampering ourself and see a smile on the faces of our near and dear ones.

Why not? It’s after all not a sin to enjoy life and celebrate and grab the opportunity to do so. But today being Women’s Day, I would like to draw your attention to all those poor women who are poor not only financially but emotionally and physically.

If you peep around you will find so many around covered in a mask. They are abused by their In-laws, husband, parents, relatives and by their bosses. These women keep getting exploited emotionally and are abused day and night without complaining and knowing any one. It is not only in rural India but also in urban India where a large segment of female population live under threat and sacrifice their rights for their male counterparts due to some or the other reason. It’s high time being a woman, that one should take initiative to give strength and wisdom to at least one female in and around your locality and give them their right to a dignified life and bring a smile on her face.

Trust me it will give you lots of internal satisfaction. Some body rightly said “DO GOOD TO OTHERS AND THE GOODNESS WILL COME BACK TO YOU”

After all it’s the right of every woman to enjoy her birth rights and live her life to the fullest.

Hi I found the photo of the mother and child which was used on the east meets west issue, march 9th 2008, on a google site.I am an artist and was searching for an image to use for a painting. I am wondering if there are any copyright issues here especially if the painting I do ends up in a book or magazine article. I would be so grateful if you could let me know as soon as possible.
    thanks
    jenny
